ABOUT

I live and work in Suffolk (UK), and I’m an illustrator, author, educator, keen gardener, and father to the boy who saw a bee, whose keen observations and experiences of starting school became the inspiration for my first picture book ‘I Saw A Bee’ published by Scallywag Press.

I’ve worked as an illustrator and animator for many years, covering a mix of character, narrative and sequential design, which led naturally to time spent writing and drawing stories; and I graduated from the Children’s Books Illustration MA at Cambridge School of Art.

As an educator, I have taught illustration and animation at many age levels — at schools, colleges and universities, as well as leading workshops. I’m currently a lecturer on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design/Illustration course at the University of Suffolk.

I’m also a member of Asylum Studios in Rendlesham, Suffolk.

And, when gardening, it’s strictly about the wildlife, and where bees are the teachers.

I am available for commissions, workshops, readings, and festival events,

simply contact me via the contact page, and I'll reply as quickly as I can.
